Using the Loop Tools in 3ds Max to Extrude a Circle on Any Surface
Using the Loop Tools in 3ds Max to Extrude a Circle on Any Surface
In this lesson, we will learn how to extrude a circle on any surface. We will be using the loop tools found in the graphite modeling section.

Using SwitfLoop lynda.com
Using SwitfLoop lynda.com
In 3ds Max Essential Training, author Aaron F. Ross demonstrates how to use this top-tier application for digital content creation, widely used in diverse industries such as architecture, industrial design, motion pictures, and games and virtual worlds. This course covers modeling with polygons, curves, and subdivision surfaces, defining surface properties with materials and maps, setting up cameras and lights, animating objects, and final output rendering.

Robot Character Modeling
Hi,i did a character using hard surface modeling in 3ds max, with a lot of smoothing groups and mult sub object material.

Texture Map the Flying Wing in 3ds Max.
Texture Map the Flying Wing in 3ds Max.
Use the Unwrap UVW modifier to lay out the surface areas of the model. Then render the layout to a PNG template to use in your paint program. The Texture maps include: Diffuse Map (the base color map) Normal Map (adds more 3D detail to the model) Specular Map (adds reflection to parts of the model) This will bring the model visually to life. Finally, we will Render a scene of the Flying Wing with a cloudy sky background.

Box Model a 50 Caliber Heavy Machine Gun in 3ds Max - Part 2
Box Model a 50 Caliber Heavy Machine Gun in 3ds Max - Part 2
UV Unwrap the gun in 3ds Max The purpose of unwrapping, is to lay out the surface areas of the model, and then export it as a bitmap. It will become the Template in your paint program that with help you build texture maps for your model. But first we have to lay out the surface areas with a modifier called an Unwrap UVW modifier.

Basic tutorial part 2 - Advanced 3DsMax
Basic tutorial part 2 - Advanced 3DsMax
This video tutorial is mainly focused about modeling techniques in 3dsmax and workflow functions. I will try to show you some functions and primitives with which you can start to plan and do your model, explain workflow in 3DsMax and show some tools which you can use for this. I will show hot to model a bulb using a reference, the bulb would be modeled with two different techniques on which you will see the differences in them and also the advantage of each of them, than we will modify one of the bulbs and recreate with other functions. At the end I will do a clay render with smooth and wire surface.

Mental Ray Glass Caustic Effect
Mental Ray Glass Caustic Effect
Today , i'm going to talk about Mental Ray caustic effect. What is caustic ? Caustic allows us to simulation of transmission of lights through the transparent material or refractive material or reflected off over the surface, it'll work well with surfaces like glass, water reflections. In this tutorial , we are going to simulate the caustic effect of a glass.

Noise Modifier and MeshSmooth to make Stairs in 3D Studio Max
Noise Modifier and MeshSmooth to make Stairs in 3D Studio Max
Here is another tutorial in 3D Studio Max. Though it is basic and simple but having very useful Modeling technique. Noise Modifier and MeshSmooth used to make these stairs, by using Noise Modifier you can create Water Effect, Bumpy Surface, Noisy surface etc. I’m also going to upload Source MAX file so you can check it by yourself.
