Top-down Design Tools - Managing Complex Assemblies
"Top-Down Design" refers to the method of placing critical information in a high-level location and then communicating that information to the lower levels of the product structure. As the design develops, more specific information becomes available and is incorporated into the design. By capturing the overall design information in one centralized location, it becomes easier to make significant design changes.
Lesson 01 - Designing With Style
Lesson Objective: In this lesson, we will introduce the ISDX module, talk about the importance of free-form design and its fit with traditional Pro/ENGINEER design elements.
Lesson 49 - Drawing Mode - Gtols & Symbols
Before we jump into Geometric Tolerances, we will take a moment to look at some definitions that pertain to concepts behind GTOLS. These definitions come from the ASME Y14.5 standard.
Clean Up Of Imported Drawings
In many cases, when you import a 2D drawing into Pro/ENGINEER, you get all the design content in the form of dimensions, notes, symbols and draft entities such as lines, arcs, circles, etc. that in most cases really represent the geometry of the model. Some of these entities such as dimension, notes, etc. are not used directly to define the feature. You will move such entities to specially created layers which are then blanked.
How To - 3d: Selecting
As a selection tool is moved over an object, "features" turns bright blue. This indicates that the "feature" can now be selected with a single mouse click.
