Top-down Design Tools - Managing Complex Assemblies
"Top-Down Design" refers to the method of placing critical information in a high-level location and then communicating that information to the lower levels of the product structure. As the design develops, more specific information becomes available and is incorporated into the design. By capturing the overall design information in one centralized location, it becomes easier to make significant design changes.

Clean Up Of Imported Drawings
In many cases, when you import a 2D drawing into Pro/ENGINEER, you get all the design content in the form of dimensions, notes, symbols and draft entities such as lines, arcs, circles, etc. that in most cases really represent the geometry of the model. Some of these entities such as dimension, notes, etc. are not used directly to define the feature. You will move such entities to specially created layers which are then blanked.
