Website content box - Photoshop tutorial


In this tutorial we will create a nice looking content box, similar to the one you can see on gamespot.com

Step one:

Start with a large black canvas and make a new layer set titled Menu box in your layers window. On your tools window choose your rounded rectangle tool. Set the radius setting of your rounded rectangle to 8 pixels and check anti-aliased. In a new layer draw a 328 x 240 pixels, #737D8C rounded rectangle. In your layers window add a Inner Shadow layer style into this layer.





Step two:

In a new layer draw a 310 x 221 pixels, #222222 colored rounded rectangle.
With this layer add a Inner Shadow layer style.





Step three:

In a new layer draw a 98 x 98 pixels, white rounded rectangle.
Cut the bottom half of your rounded rectangle.
With this layer add the following layer styles:

Gradient Overlay

Stroke





Step four:

With your text tool type in Latest News using font Arial, regular, 11 pt, crisp and black for color.



Step five:

On the opposite end add the update date text using font Arial, regular, 10 pt, none and black for color.



Step six:

Add your content using font Verdana, regular, 11 pt, none and #FFAA27 for color.




Step seven:

To make the line seperator, in a new layer use your pencil tool and draw #CCCCCC dots with 3 pixels space between each dot.
