Glassy navigation tab - Photoshop tutorial

Glass Container Tab.



Step one:

Start with a large black canvas and make a new layer set titled Glass Container Tab in your layers window. In your tools window choose rounded rectangle tool. Set the radius setting of your rounded rectangle to 4 pixels and check anti-aliased. In a new layer draw a 172 x 26 pixels, #525252 rounded rectangle.
With this layer add the following layer styles:

Inner Shadow

Satin

Gradient Overlay

Stroke





Step two:

In a new layer draw a 10 x 19 pixels, black rounded rectangle on the side of your container
With this layer add the following layer styles: Drop Shadow and Stroke
Set your layers blending mode to Lighten.



Step three:

Duplicate your side structure layer from step two and position it on the other end of your container.



Step four:

With your text tool type in your name using font Eurostile, bold, 10 pt, strong and white for color.
With this layer add the following layer styles:

Gradient Overlay

Stroke
