Quickly Replacing Components That Assemble Many Times
Quickly Replacing Components That Assemble Many Times
Large assemblies have long model trees and include many standard parts such as screws, washers, studs, and so on. When you have to replace one of these parts in several locations, making your selections in the model tree is very complicated.

Inserting A Round (concept)
Inserting A Round (concept)
You can fillet the edges of solids with the Round feature. It is a slightly different type of feature than you have created up until now, in that it is entirely defined by references from the model and user input - no Sketch is required. The edges of solid models can be rounded with a user defined radius value. In some cases material is added.

Assembly By Coord Systems - Application
Assembly By Coord Systems - Application
When you constrain one coordinate system to another, this single constraint is enough to fully constrain the component. This is one of the reasons that this method is so convenient.

Creating Features
Creating Features
This Lesson teaches you how to create a new part and add your first few Features to create a solid model. Solids are created from a series of discrete Features. Features are created using many different methods, but are fundamentally defined by extruding (a.k.a. sweeping) a 2D profile through 3D space. This sweep may be in a linear direction over a specific distance or even revolved about an axis (as shown below).

Gd&t > Setting Datums > Application
Gd&t > Setting Datums > Application
When you set a datum, the system displays the GD&T standard flag at the origin of the Datum name. You can then move the flag to an acceptable location. The system displays the flag in any view on the drawing where the datum plane is perpendicular to the screen.

Spinning And Fixing A Component`s Placement During Assembly
This tutorial by Keith Ebling of Baldwin Hardware Corporation illustrates how to use the ability to dynamically spin a component while defining its constraints in an assembly, and how to use the Fix Component functionality.

Gd&t > Creating Frames > Concept (with Video)
Once your reference datums are in place and the necessary dimensions have been converted to Basic, you can define the GD&T frames. When you define a frame, you must specify the characteristic (e.g., position, parallelism, profile of a line, etc.), the reference datums, the tolerance value, and the material conditions. Frames are also placed either appended to a dimension, free standing, or with a leader.
