Pro/ENGINEER AutobuildZ Tutorials
We hope that you will enjoy our Pro/ENGINEER AutobuildZ tutorials. Feel free to contact us if you would like to be a tutorial hero and contribute your own Pro/ENGINEER AutobuildZ tutorial to our site. Thank you !
Drawing data imported to Pro/ENGINEER may or may not contain views. You can select drafting entities of the imported drawing and logically group them to represent views in AutobuildZ. You can define orthographic, detail, section and auxiliary views using the AutobuildZ view setup tools.
Difficulty:

Now that you have completed the automatic cleanup of the imported drawing, you will notice that there are still some entities on the drawing that represent the leader lines, arrows, etc. that are represented as lines and arcs that have not been blanked. More...

You can save the Pro/E drawing you are currently working on at any time. When you have a part model that is associated with the drawing (i.e. the part you are creating features in) it will also get saved to disk anytime you save the drawing.
Difficulty:

Let`s continue the model rebuilding process by creating the extruded cut.
Difficulty:

Now that you have completed the preparation of the drawing, you are ready to create features. Using AutobuildZ feature creation tools you can select all the components that define Pro/E features such as extrusions, revolves, holes and even datum features directly from the drawing.
Difficulty:

Now let`s create some straight holes in the model. You will notice that there are a set of 4 holes on the bottom surface of the cut feature.

You can start using the AutobuildZ set of tools on a Pro/ENGINEER drawing in session to create 3D content. In most cases, standalone 2D drawings are created by importing 2D data from different sources (such as AutoCAD DWG or DXF) into Pro/ENGINEER.
Difficulty:

In many cases, when you import a 2D drawing into Pro/ENGINEER, you get all the design content in the form of dimensions, notes, symbols and draft entities such as lines, arcs, circles, etc. that in most cases really represent the geometry of the model. Some of these entities such as dimension, notes, etc. are not used directly to define the feature. You will move such entities to specially created layers which are then blanked.

This course is designed to provide you with an overview of the suite of tools included in AutobuildZ. In addition, you will get familiar with the complete process of building a parametric, feature-based model from a 2D drawing using these tools. In this course, you will be guided through the steps involved in recreating a 3D model from a 2D AutoCAD drawing imported into Pro/ENGINEER.
Difficulty:

AutobuildZ is a plug-in application for Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire that includes a comprehensive set of tools to create a 3D parametric, feature-based model from a Pro/ENGINEER 2D drawing, irrespective of the source (of the drawing). You can create a 2D drawing by improrting a neutral file format such as DXF or IGES or directly open an AutoCAD DWG file.
